If you love yourself, then why...?

If you love yourself then why do you need anyone/others to love you?

This question popped up in my mind while reading some articles of love. And I can't seem to find a way to answer this.So i ask you.

I have a girlfriend (currently in a serious relationship) and am enjoying my love life including myself. But if i love myself then why do I need her to love me? Is it because humans need more love? I can't really answer this. So i need your opinion.

Do you think if you love yourself you need anyone else to love you? Why or why not?

If you love yourself, then why...?
I believe you need to love yourself in order for anyone else to love you in return.

As for needing someone else's love, that is human nature. The only thing about human emotions that will forever be dependent is the need for acceptance and love. No matter how much you love yourself, even if you tell yourself you don't need more, a part of your psyche will always be searching for more.

Just think about it... its usually the people who love themselves the most and say they don't need anyone else that are really crying out for attention and love.
Reply:One does love oneself most but loving others is more pleasing.
Reply:Although it is important to love yourself many do not. They seek the approval and love of others to make them feel better about themselves. Those that do love themselves, usually love others as well so its not a matter of needing others to love them it is more a matter of knowing if you love a special person do they love you also in return. Especially if you want the relationship to go somewhere. Being loved by someone else has nothing to do with loving yourself.
