Agape love?

Can non Christian display agape love? Agape love means unconditional love. Some have said it means 'Godly love'

Agape is a greek word meaning unconditional sacrificial love, seperating it from brother love (phileo) and passionate love (Eros) and the more modern term of affection (storge)

So, with that in mind, can non-christians show agape love?

Agape love?
Yes, we are all capable of "unconditional" love......

That type of Love, comes from God's heart, not our own!

Reply:Hello Mav.. :)

Unconditional Love means, that no matter what one can or does to us, we can forgive and Love them..this also would include when someone may hurt or murder a loved one..could you still forgive them, like God forgave us for killing His only Son Jesus..that is Agape Love.. :) Report It

Reply:Of course.

Persons of all faith can show love like this.

Gandhi was not Christian; can anyone argue the depth of his love?

.
Reply:yes...my husband shows me unconditional love....... and he isn't a Christian... that doesn't mean that he doesn't believe in some sort of God though......
Reply:You talk a GOOD GAME!
Reply:Funny, is not being a practicing homosexual a condition? SOME christians are capable of practicing unconditional love, some are not. I guess that is where the definition of "true Christian" comes into play
Reply:They're still humans, and every human has a bit of the divine within them, whether they realize it or not. So yes.
Reply:I don't know but it would just seem to me it would be hard to show the love the love of God without experiencing it, but I could be wrong.
Reply:Of course Mav, all humans are capable of agape love. Who thinks you are stupid honey? They are not too astute in observing people is all I can say.
Reply:Yes people can Mav. Its what the individual person is like that matters irrespective of anything else.

i am a pagan and a witch and i know agape love :)

i love my family :)
Reply:I dont know, I dont think its really posible for them, but I could be wrong
Reply:I think all people have it within themselves to love unconditionally although it can be a rare and difficult thing. I think you will find unconditional love present in the love many mothers have for their child regardless of religion or nonreligion.
Reply:Mav knows spiritual love more than most ... Mav knows agape love

is Mav Chrisitian ?

does Mav see this same love in others than are non Christian .. given that you know this love personally ?
Reply:Agape love is not only selfless and self-giving love, and unconditional love, but it is also the unmerited love that God shows to mankind in sending his son Jesus Christ as suffering redeemer. As humans, it is quite difficult to show that kind of love, for we always try to put conditions on giving love to people.

Even though we may not mean to, we end up doing it anyway because that is in our human nature. The only way that we can give agape love is through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Reply:I have seen this word before but the meaning I associate with it is a Catholic ritual of blessing the bread and wine so that it becomes the body and blood of Christ...so if you are a non-Chrisitian technically you don't believe that the bread and wine can become the actual body and blood of Christ --so i guess the answer is no unless you believe in the body and blood of christ manifesting itself from a blessed piece of bread and wine
Reply:Yes I believe that anyone who has a good heart is capable of it
