Love Versus All?

I'm in love. I have never felt so in love in my life. I cant even describte it as love, it is so much more. The man is protective, would do anything for me, kind, charming, loves to tak, cares for me, would give up his life for me, is everything that a girl would ever dream man, however, there are many odds against us. First of all, i'm 18, and my mother doesnt know about it. Im very very catholic, and he is pagan, and i know my mom will disapprove and disown me. I love my man, but i do feel bad leaving my family in ruins and my younger brother in the middle of it. Also, my boyfriend is 20 years older than me, which is okay to me, but certainly not to my parents. Also, i always dreamed of having a catholic wedding, but since he is pagan, i wotn be able to be one and im afraid that what im doing is a sin but im not sure. Should i pick love or family? love or religion? i know this is the man i want to marry as he already proved it (he saved my life long story) do i follow my heart?

tell them the truth, love isn't a lie, so you can't make it a lie, and if they can't accept how you feel about this man, you need to explain your feelings more

my experience (at 28) is that you should NEVER choose anyone over your family.


Who will you have if it doesn't end up working out?


And 20 years older?


Not that its impossible but don't be naive. Put your gaurd back up and take it slow....get your head back on and out of the clouds, look at the big picture.

Reply:Honestly, thats a huge age difference. You're one year older than being illegal and he's old enough to be your father. I think your parents would be more disappointed with the age difference than his religious background or preference. Aside from that, you must remember that your family will always be there for you. I'm not saying that your boyfriend is going to leave you. But, I wouldnt completely turn against my family for a man. Also, from what you describe, he seems to be the typical older gentleman. Make certain that he wants you for who you are and not just a young woman who makes him feel young (if you know what I mean). All in all, I wish you the best.
