My Second Love...?

I fell in love with a guy who was absolutely perfect for me, when I was 16. We spent 1 year and 3 months in a fairy-tale love. We were each others' first kiss, first love, first everything really.





But when he went to college, something changed. Neither of us was able to figure out exactly why - it could have been the overwhelming influence of a life totally apart from mine (only 1 hour away, but our worlds were different). So he fell out of love with me. We tried, in vain, to make it work. I tried harder than i should have. But in the end, we fell apart. We ended it in agreement though - we hoped that fate would bring us back together in the future...





Now, I fell in love for the 2nd time (i'm almost 18 now). He is really amazing and I know that I love him. Yet I'm having a hard time dealing with the thoughts and emotions that come up in relationship to my first love. My first love meant SO much to me that I can't always feel as strongly or "deep-in-love" about my new love.

i did the same, just live and love. if faith wants you and your first love together it will happen
Reply:Just find another one , coz he is not the right for you. I guess. Let it go, if he is yours he's coming back , but no first love last long in this world, I think many people has the same experiences.
Reply:Remember that what goes around comes around. It's time for you to let your first guy go. Your first love is always memorable, but it will never be the same. Enjoy your time with this new boyfriend and try not to dwell on old memories.
Reply:Now that you've had the euphoric fairy tale love, you can move on to the real stuff. When you really love someone, living an hour away doesn't change the way you feel about each other. Real love is about trust and partnership. Give this new guy a shot and be ready for a completely different experience that could be even more fulfilling than that last one.
Reply:Things went wrong with your first love. Though he meant a lot to you back then, it just wasn't right and sounds like you werent treated completely fair. You now have someone new that could make your life so amazing. It makes sense that you are wondering about your first love, it fell apart suddenly and you will wonder until you find out about him. Maybe you should go see him, maybe he has become a rich millionaire, or maybe he is just a drunken man, you could find out very easily if you made the right choice and you'll realize how much more you love the second man and you won't worry anymore. Reply:i know what you mean...all you can do is tell yourself it's over between you and the other guy and look at all of the good that the new guy has to offer and how happy he makes you...and hope that your 1st love finds a new girl to be happy with...and you and him just stay friends...no guys can compare to a first love ever....
